Create a device of type windows printer and fill in the URL in the device queue. Bwprint will not recognize the locally installed printer. Instead it will ask at every printout to install the printer locally YES/NO. Workaround Use the real name of the printer instead of the share name. Test Procedure Have a printer locally installed, and share this printer. Print to this printer using its sharename. Bwprint should not ask you to install this printer. Eg. Printer locally installed = HP DeskJet 540 Share name of this printer = deskjet System name = cnl08168 Now, the field "Device Queue" of the Windows Printer Baan device should contain the following: \\cnl08168\deskjet (Also tests done using locally installed network printers, local printers, and using ip addresses in stead of hostnames) Code-change Type bugfix Affected Executables bwprint.exe Scopus defectnumber(s) Scopus casenumber(s) Priority (e.g. 10) 119706 650049 20 641882 651007 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MaintBaanIVc: # 13476 (BDNT7282): Wrong file will be deleted after using SaveAs command. Date: 2002/03/07 Script: MergeProject Product: tools Release: MaintBaanIVc Created on: MaintBaanIVc Type: bugfix Problem: Problem Description (Customer terms) BW63. Some time ago there was a case because BWPrint temporary files were never deleted. A solution was produced that fixed this, so that temporary files are deleted automatically on the client - this is generally what is required. However, it now seems impossible to save one of these files if you want to! Even if you do Save As and change the filename, the file is still deleted when the BWPrint window is closed. Workaround n/a Test Procedure - execute : bwprint /r - Use SaveAs command to make a copy - exit bwprint The orginal bpf.file should be removed. The copy should be available.
