About the admin user and normal users

There are 2 main types of OnePoint Diagnostics users: An admin user and a normal user. The admin user has privileges to create normal users and to regulate their privileges.

Typical actions to be performed by an admin user are:

• Download and install the OnePoint Diagnostics server components on one or more server systems
• Ensure the OnePoint Diagnostics listener is up and running
• Create normal users
• Grant normal users access at IP-address level
• Create connections and optionally share them to allow access by normal users (or else inform the normal users about the connection parameters)

Not all admin specific activities are described in these help files. If you are an admin user refer to the installation manual for all mandatory actions. If you are a normal user you need to know who is your admin user (generally the System Administrator) who can provide you with the required user account and privileges.
