This would allow malicious individuals to access the Baan environment without logging on when such a password file is stolen or accidentally put on a shared directory. Furthermore stored passwords are currently not bound to a specific Windows NT or Windows 9x user account. 1.2 Related products BW 1.3 User characteristics Users of this feature are system administrators, which have the right to enable or disable this feature. Normal Baan users will use the stored passwords when this feature is enabled for them by a system administrator. 1.4 Performance requirements Performance will not be affected by these changes. 1.5 System Policy Editor NT 4.0 introduced the System Policy Editor (PolEdit.exe) which gives administrators the ability to create a file that contained Registry settings that is written to the user or local machine portion of the Registry database of the client machine to generate a desired environment for the user. When policy is applied, the existing Registry settings are overwritten with the settings the administrator has established, thus giving the administrator the ability to set restrictions on the client machine and end-user. The settings available cover a variety of options to manage the environment. The system policy editor can also by used for Win9x clients.
